Economic Development Initiatives

Lebo has several initiatives in place to support existing business and attract new business to our community. Contact City Hall for details on the new short term small business loans.

Locations

One of the short term goals of our economic initiatives is to provide for areas where primary sector industries can operate successfully and be complementary to the community. To that end, the Lebo Planning Commission is completing a Comprehensive Plan which will identify areas for industrial and business development.

Seed Money

The City of Lebo received a grant in 1992 from the Coffey County Commission to establish an Economic Development Seed Fund. Since then, this revolving loan fund has been used locally to fund startup, operation and capital improvements for business enterprise.

Grant Expertise

Over the past ten years, the Lebo city staff has developed in-house expertise in obtaining grants for various improvements and projects. Over $650,000 has been obtained from various Federal/State grant programs for neighborhood revitalization, planning and recreation. This expertise can aid in your proposed business expansion or relocation.
